棕背(鼠平)(Detprionmgs oufocamcs)是大青山地区危害油松最严重的害鼠之一。该鼠在大青山次生林区分布很广,四季活动,主要是冬季啃食树皮,造成林木死亡。严重时可以使油松成片死亡,给林业生产带来很大损失。仅在内蒙古的武川县井尔沟林场一个作业区,死于棕背(鼠平)危害的油松林达100多亩。据观察该鼠在武川地区,主要分布在海拔1800米以下,栖息林地的土壤,均为栗钙土,
