超精密加工又名超级加工。这种加工方法可以得到很高的表面光度,约H_ck=O.025μ,甚至H_ck=O.01μ。这种加工方法不能改正表面的宏观几何形状,但能把前一加工工序所留下的凸痕逐渐地磨削掉,其磨削情况如[图一]。因此超级加工所需要的裕度要小。它在加工过程结束以后所得之表面像镜子一样,但没有镜子(玻璃的)那样有光芒,看起来是暗的,但极光,上面仅留下一些极小的、相隔很还的線纹,这是前一加工面上的凹痕的底部,见[图一]最后一条。
