文物是一个国家历史文化的重要体现,是民族文化的载体。城镇是一种历史文化现象,是人类建筑文明的一个阶段。我国小城镇数量多如繁星,许多小城镇都保留了具有历史研究价值和观赏价值的古建筑风貌。这些保留下来的,有着明显的历史特征的小镇中华民族灿烂的历史文化的体现,对研究中华民族文化的发展和演变具有重要的参考价值。目前,全国各地城乡建设步伐不断加快,城市化速度不断加快,大量有保护价值的历史建筑、民居正面临着被毁的危险。如何在保证经济增长,推进城市化进程的过程中,保护小城镇文物古迹不被破坏,保护古镇的历史延续性和研究性,协调建设和保护的关系,显得尤为重要。
