伴随着改革开放的春风,20世纪80年代初马岭乡镇企业开始起步,出现了一批万元户和致富带头人,掀起了乡镇企业发展的第一次高潮。1992年,小平南巡讲话使马岭乡镇企业建设迎来了新的发展契机。镇党委、政府抓住时机,积极调整产业结构、改善投资环境,引进资金、技术、人才,重树支柱产业。从1995年至2000年,短短5年,马岭镇龙井村已拥有骨干工业企业18家,产值达1.2亿元,解决就业3000余人,成为名副其实的“全州工业第一村”。目前,马岭镇已建成为黔西南州最大的优质页岩砖建材工业基地,全镇乡镇企业跳出了单一化产业结构的制约,形成了集建材、化工、食品、饲料、日用品、煤炭、煤气、烟花、旅游、农产品加工等为一体的一、二、三产业并举、多轮转动的新局面。
