Due to the collapse of the bubble economy and the long-term economic stagnation, the living standards of Japanese nationals rose slowly in the early 1990s and continued to decline again in the late 1990s and early new century. As far as the income and consumption level of the family are concerned, it is now lower than the level in 1990, which is not as good as it used to be. From an international perspective, the living standards of Japanese nationals are generally at a lower-middle level among the major developed countries. As a result, Japanese nationals lack the sense of well-being and happiness that are commensurate with economic powers in their daily lives.
