中央推广普通话工作委员会和教育部联合举办的全国普通话教学成绩观摩会,于7月25日到30日在北京举行。这次观摩会检阅了从1955年10月全国文字改革会议和1956年2月国务院发出“关于推广普通话的指示”以后全国各地推广普通话的工作。这次观摩会,除新疆维吾尔自治区因为路远没有派代表参加外,25个省、市、自治区都选派代表参加,出席人数共141人。其中有小学生29人,中学和师范学生30人,小学教师40人,中学和师范学校教师28人,省、市、自治区教育厅、局推广普通话工作干部
The National Putonghua Teaching Observation Meeting, jointly organized by the Central Promotion Putonghua Committee and the Ministry of Education, was held in Beijing from July 25 to July 30. This visit reviewed the promotion of Putonghua throughout the country from the National Literary Reform Conference held in October 1955 and the directive issued by the State Council in February 1956 for the promotion of Putonghua.
