本研究旨在考察中国学习者在线分析处理英语含提升动词句子的策略。通过有声思维的方法,本研究收集了18位学习者在线分析处理含提升动词句子的口头报告。对报告进行定性和定量分析发现:1)学习者主要运用5种在线分析线索:语义、句法、直觉、语境和词形,并形成了8种不同的策略;2)随着水平的提高,他们运用的语义和句法线索的差距逐渐缩小;3)NP主语的有生性和补语动词的静态特征均引出更多语义线索和直觉策略,而虚指词it和there没有引出一致性的线索。这些发现不仅可以加深我们对提升动词二语习得的理解,而且可以为我国外语教学提供启示。
The purpose of this study is to examine the Chinese learners’ online analysis and processing strategies for English sentences with raised verbs. Through a sound-thinking approach, this study collected 18 learners to analyze verbally the verbal reports containing the verb-raising verbs. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of the report found that: 1) learners mainly use five online analysis clues: semantics, syntax, intuition, context and morphology, and formed eight different strategies; 2) as the level of improvement, The gap between the semantic and syntactic clues used by them gradually diminishes; 3) Both the spontaneity of the NP subject and the static features of the complement verb lead to more semantic cues and intuition strategies, while the imaginary terms it and there do not lead to a consistent clue. These findings not only deepen our understanding of improving verbal second language acquisition, but also provide enlightenment for our foreign language teaching.
