The two languages, English and Chinese, have a long history and contain a large number of idioms. They are either implicit, humorous, or serious and elegant; not only concise but also lively and vivid, giving people a beautiful enjoyment. Comparing English and Chinese idioms from the perspective of cultural differences between China and the West to study the differences between English and Chinese can help to find out appropriate translation strategies and improve the level of translation.
