白蛇传说是中国古代四大民间传说之一。千百年来,人们对白蛇传说进行了多次的重述和演艺。《白蛇传》故事中蕴涵了大量重要的文化要素,尤以白娘子和法海最为突出。这两个文化要素具有不同的功能,但反映了共同的社会心理。本文将以《新白娘子传奇》为例,借助文化人类学中的功能论对白蛇传中的白娘子形象、法海形象及伞的形象进行粗略的分析,旨在了解白蛇传文化中文化要素的功能。
White Snake legend is one of the four ancient folklore in ancient China. For thousands of years, white snake legend has been repeatedly repeated and performing arts. “White Snake” contains a large number of important cultural elements in the story, especially the White Snake and Fahai most prominent. These two cultural elements have different functions but reflect a common social psychology. Taking “The Legend of the New White Snake” as an example, this article analyzes the image of White Snake, the image of Fahai and the image of umbrella with the help of the functional theory of cultural anthropology, aiming to understand the cultural elements of the White Snake Culture Function
