Since ancient times, Taiwan has been an important part of the sacred territory of China. In April 1895, the Qing government, which forced the corruption by the Japanese invaders, signed the Treaty of Shimonoseki that enshrined the humiliating power and degraded the country, causing Taiwan to become a colony of Japanese imperialism.
