白棠子树(Callicarpa dichotoma(Lour)K·Koch·)为马鞭科(Yerbenaceae)紫珠属(Callicarpa Li)的野生植物。本属植物约有150种。我国产的就有三十五种。我厂生产用的是江西的一种。紫珠属植物临床主要用于治疗外伤出血、衄血、咯血、妇女血崩等症,而白棠子树在国内外用于临床都还很少。根据同属植物的药理、临床和化学成分等研究工作的报导,浙江民间尚有用老鸭糊和白棠子树、毛紫珠、杜红花等治外伤出血、内出血、血尿、风湿性关节炎、感冒发烧等。中国人民解放军第一六二医院用裸花紫珠作了大量的药理实验。证明该植物具有良 Callicarpa dichotoma (Lour) K.
