潮汐现象与万有引力相关,但是产生潮汐的引潮力并不等同于万有引力。通过地球与月球相对运动的物理模型计算分析了引潮力的起源,揭示了地球上质点所受的引力与向心力的差即为引潮力,介绍了涨潮与落潮的形成,并讨论了月球与太阳所产生的引潮力对潮汐的影响。因为大部分高中生对非惯性系仅有概念性了解,避免使用“惯性离心力”这一名词,而用高中生熟悉的向心力和离心现象来解释潮汐。
Tidal phenomena are related to gravitation, but the tide producing tides are not the same as gravitation.
