人力资源管理的本意是相比人事管理承担更多的战略功能。然而很不幸,许多销售人员一夜之间变成了营销管理者;企业规划部门把他们部门的名称换成了战略管理部门;许多人事部门开始采用人力资源管理部这个新名字。部门名称的改变与其战略行为的增加相匹配的例子非常鲜见。确实,越来越多的人力资源管理的高层员工开始出现在组织的董事会中,但是战略人力资源管理远远不止这些。
The intention of human resource management is to assume more strategic functions than personnel management. Unfortunately, however, many salespeople became marketing managers overnight; corporate planning changed the name of their department to strategic management; and many personnel departments began adopting the new name of HRM. An example of a change in department name matching the increase in its strategic behavior is rare. Indeed, more and more HR management staff members are starting to appear on the organization's board of directors, but strategic HR management goes far beyond that.
