从80年代开始,世界上很多国家出现了华人新移民所办的报刊,有的国家是一种、几种,还有的国家是十几种、几十种,一时间,其景象蔚为壮观,有人由此说海外华文报刊出现了第四次高潮。这些报刊多数是大陆的新移民、包括大陆留学生所办,我们姑且称之为大陆新移民报刊。一二十年间为什么会出现大量大陆新移民报刊呢?其原因有很多,但经济实力、读者群体、人才资源与华人情结是最基本的原因。近二三十年来,世界经济有了飞跃的发展,华人经济实力也有了迅速壮大,成长起来的华人经济从广告上给大陆新移民报刊提供了可以生存和发展的基本条件;新移民、留学生,以及当地出生的新一代华人人数的大量增加,使华文报
