在一般没有自来水的中小城市及遭受水灾的地区,饮水消毒是在胃肠传染病流行季节(夏季与秋季)防疫工作中一项重要的工作;有的地区在消毒后调查胃肠传染病病例,较消毒前有了相当的降低;有的厂矿工地因患胃肠传染病误工影响出勤率的现象也从而减少。这些成绩虽然不单纯是由于饮水消毒的因素,但也很有力的阐明了饮水消毒的重要和它所起的作用。
