2001年11月11日,在卡塔尔首都多哈,石广生作为外经贸部部长,代表中国签署了入世议定书,这标志着中国正式加入了世界贸易组织(WTO)。而在中国入世的历程中,1999年11月15日,他和美国贸易代表在北京签署了中美关于中国加入WTO的双边协议;2000年5月19日,他和欧盟贸易委员分别代表中欧双方签署了协议……对此,有人开玩笑说,石广生是中国入世过程中签字最多的人。
On November 11, 2001, in Doha, the capital of Qatar, Shi Guangsheng, as minister of foreign trade and economic cooperation, signed the protocol of accession on behalf of China, which marks China’s formal admission to the World Trade Organization (WTO). In the course of China’s accession to the WTO, on November 15, 1999, he and U.S. trade representatives signed a bilateral agreement on China’s accession to the WTO between China and the United States in Beijing.
