油茶地蜂(Andrena carmellia Wu.)是一种重要的油茶授粉蜂,它广布于油茶产区;在老产区几乎都有蜂孔密度超过300—400个/米~2的密集分布区。据调查,油茶地蜂在晴朗气候条件下,每天可出洞采访3—5次(每天至少采访30朵),每次可携带花粉13万粒;经由地蜂类采访的油茶花,座果率可达70%以上。在油茶林内如果每树能有蜂5—10头(且分布均匀),就能初步满足油茶授粉的需要。油茶地蜂还能起深翻土地、改善土壤通透性和增加土壤肥力(排泄物)的作用。因此,在蜂群密集的地段,油茶的座果率显著高于无蜂或少蜂地段(见表1)。但由于该蜂蜂体弱小,自然扩散能力低,繁殖比较缓慢,在新油茶林内,特 Andrena carmellia Wu.
