A lightweight, snap-and-build composite transmission tower developed and manufactured by San Diego-based Ebert Composites is on display in Southern California, United States. Three towers designed to withstand high voltage transmission lines have been installed in power plants operated by the largest power plants in the United States. Roughly this 25.6-meter-tall tower appears to be an ordinary steel spire tower, but the difference in structure detail is noticeable under careful observation. This tower features elegant architecture lines and claims no unique reinforcement system with bolts or adhesives. The company claims that for any given height and design, the composite tower weighs roughly one-third of its counterpart steel.
