The exchanges between China and Japan in the Ming Dynasty were mainly conducted through tributary trade. The Ming government’s reward to Japan was significantly higher than that of other countries. It is different from other countries that there is a large number of silk fabrics for the articles that are bestowed upon Japan, as well as the direct appreciation of large amounts of copper coins. The reward to Japan has enriched Japan’s economic life and deepened the cultural ties between China and Japan.
