“国际减灾十年”(1990——2000年)是由联合国组织、协调,由各成员国积极参与的国际性活动,其目的在于通过国际社会的共同努力,有效减轻自然灾害的危害,特别是减少灾害对发展中国家的生命财产的破坏以及由此带来的社会和经济影响。 1989年第44届联大正式宣布“国际减灾十年”于1990年1月1日开始,并指定每年10月的第二个星期三为“国际减灾日”,每年提出一个适合“国际减灾十年”的目标,以此方式纪念这个国际日。今年的“世界减灾日”主题是“防灾与媒体”——强调了各种媒体在减灾工作中的重要性,希望通过与新闻媒体的共同努力,推广普及减灾知识,提高减灾意识。
The International Decade for Disaster Reduction (1990-2000) is an international event organized, coordinated and actively participated by all member countries. Its purpose is to effectively reduce the damage caused by natural disasters through the joint efforts of the international community.
