接受西方思潮洗礼的现代报业家,在事业作为方面表现出很强的现代特征;但与此同时,儒家文化作为主要的精神内核却一直左右着他们的价值取舍,使其在走向现代的路途中始终面临着新旧思想的冲突,在自身价值的认同上,表现出对报业主与文人身份的错觉,独立理想与现实阻遏的困惑,以及对西方现代新闻职业伦理与中国传统文人精神的混淆。唯其如此,才真实地反映了他们在传统与现代之间的心灵挣扎。 Modern newspapermen who have been baptized by the Western thought show strong modern characteristics in their careers; at the same time, however, the Confucian culture, as the main spiritual kernel, has always dominated their value choices and made them progress toward the modern age On the way, it always confronts the conflicts between the old and new ideas. On the recognition of its own value, it shows the illusion of the identity of newspaper owners and literati, the confusion of independent ideals and reality deterrence, and the confusion about the professional ethics of Western modern journalism and the traditional Chinese literati. Only in this way can they truly reflect their spiritual struggles between tradition and modernity.
