利用热带优良自交系S37和温带优良自交系豫32、N29分别杂交组配豫32×S37和S37×N29,S1代混合授粉,S2代以后按系谱法连续自交,同时进行多世代、多类型骨干系测交鉴定,育成集温带和热带种质优点的温-热带种质玉米自交系YA3237和YA3729。以其作亲本,按照“温-热带种质自交系×温带自交系”和“温-热带种质自交系×热带自交系”模式,育成15个新品种通过国家及省级审定,并在我国南方和北方的12个省、市、区推广应用90.9万hm2。
