新一轮的基础教育课程改革已进行多年了,随着课程改革的深入,教师对新课改的认识也有了一个从感性的热情到理性回归的过程。在现行的美术课课程标准中,对美术课的价值表述更为全面。它不再过于强调美术课的学科体系,而是尽量淡化专业美术教育的倾向,重视美术学科的内在联系以及和其他学科的广泛融合。注重学生的实际情况和要求,让学科内容和学生的生活联系起来。小学美术真正成为内容兼容包备的人文学科。在美术课程标准中更包含了这一方面的内容:“引导学生参与文化的传承与交流。”通过这一点可以看出,基础教育课程必然要包括学习与探究民族文化。
