今年是我国著名经济学家、华中理工大学经济管理学院名誉院长兼经济发展研究中心主任张培刚教授从事经济学研究和教学工作60周年暨八旬华诞之年。半个多世纪以来,张先生在经济学的领域中辛勤耕耘,奋力开拓,造诣高深,著述丰厚,发表专著论文近300余万字。张先生在农业经济方面的调查与研究、在农业国工业化理论即发展经济学上的创立与发展以及对西方经济学在我国的传播与应用等领域,作出了重要贡献;其中尤以《农业与工业化》这部不朽之作,享誉国内外经济学界,被认为是发展经济学的早期奠基之作,张先生也因而成为“发展经济学的创始人之一”。近年来,张先生又首倡并致力于“新型发展经济学”的研究,由他主编的《新发展经济学》一
