The life of excavator hydraulic equipment parts is relatively short, so the excavator needs to carry out planned and temporary maintenance. Under the conditions of use, the overhaul of hydraulic equipment is a very complicated task and requires special maintenance equipment and test benches, which makes it necessary to spend excessive labor and funds on technical maintenance of hydraulic excavators. In order to seek ways to increase the life of hydraulic equipment, one of the vulnerable components of the hydraulic system has been studied - the wear of the distributor during use. The study of the wear of the distributor slide valve was carried out by observing the working state of the slide valve during operation and by observing its working surface with the naked eye and through a microscope. A total of 258 slide valves and 150 were studied
