The National Science and Technology Agency for Japan’s National Science and Technology Agency for Disaster Prevention put forward a tentative plan for a new warning system that can quickly detect a large earthquake and alert it faster than a seismic wave. The new warning system uses the East China Sea earthquake as a forecast for the deployment of the seismograph cluster around the Suruga Bay and the metropolitan area using a dedicated line. Then use the computer to process the seismograph data in turn, and output the signal corresponding to the magnitude of the earthquake. It has been calculated that such warnings can reach 20 to 30 seconds before the seismic waves of the East Sea earthquake reach the metropolitan area, and disaster prevention measures can be taken during this period.
