一、三十年来美国电工教育的发展 (一)在第二次大战前的情况电工或电机工程这门工程学科是从物理中的电学而发展起来的。从十九世纪末,电力工业开始发展,电学和机械工程学组合起来产生了一门新的工程学,这就是电机工程学。在二次大战以前的时期,电力工程的发展在电机工程中占主要地位,也是发展得最快的,到二次大战以前已经有了每平方英寸为1000磅压力的蒸气涡轮机及30万伏的高压输电线。
The Development of American Electrotechnical Education in One or Three Years (A) Pre-World War II Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering This engineering discipline was developed from the physics of electricity. From the end of the nineteenth century, the electric power industry began to develop. The combination of electrical and mechanical engineering produced a new engineering, that is, electromechanical engineering. Prior to the Second World War, the development of power engineering was the dominant and fastest-growing electric engineering project and by the Second World War there had been a steam-turbine of 1,000 pounds per square inch and 300,000 volts High-voltage transmission line.
