“The road to life is long, but it is only a few steps away from it. ” This sentence, used to describe the Tibetan singer once Dan Dolma’s road of life, no more appropriate. For 40 years, both inside and outside the Great Wall and north and south of the Yangtze River, her song “Singing a Folk Song to the Party”, no matter where it sounded, would resonate strongly with the audience. On the evening of December 26, 2003, at a large-scale cultural gala commemorating the 110th anniversary of Chairman Mao Zedong’s birthday, audiences at home and abroad once again listened to the full of affectionate songs of Dan Trite. From her weather-beaten face, we read her extraordinary experience from the serf woman to the communists and the people singers.
