This paper investigates the influence of the difference of ESP performance and small rotational speed on the production rate of oil well under completion in underpressure reservoirs and puts forward the unique design basis of ESP. The fluid flow required to start these wells requires some indenter, and the well-load curves for these wells are relatively straight. Pumps that operate at a rate near the recommended liquid rate have a special curve that rises and falls sharply, which means that the effect of a low performance pump on liquid rate is minimized. The formula to calculate the influence of pump characteristics and speed is deduced. The pump-operating characteristic and the slope of the well-load curve should be evaluated as required. An example is given to demonstrate the validity of these formulas. It has also been demonstrated that fluid flow in underpressured reservoirs tends to stall when installed pumps are designed to operate near the minimum recommended fluid production rate.
