In this paper, 2012 Chinese New Year’s Eve large-scale release, 1.3K was cut off for analysis and reflection. The domestic standard 1.3K digital cinema technology has been disputed domestically since it was born. The supportive party believes that it can reduce investment costs and meet the needs of audiences in small and medium-sized cities. Although it can not see the large-scale distribution of U.S. assets under the restriction of chips, it can simultaneously see excellent domestic-made large-scale commercial films. The opposing party considers it a transitional technology and no longer has promotional value. 1.3K movie technology in the development of China’s film industry, what exactly is in what position? What kind of role is it? Is it a transitional technology? This article attempts to explore.
