In this paper, the surface features of Cu / SiO_2, Sb / SiO_2 and Cu-Sb / SiO_2 catalysts were mainly investigated by TPR technique and correlated with the catalytic activity of isoprene synthesis from formaldehyde and isobutylene. The results of Cu / SiO 2 catalyst show that Cu / SiO 2 catalyst has three different states of Cu ~ #, one highly dispersed CuO cluster, the other is isolated Cu ~ # with interaction with support, the third is massive CuO, Among them, isolated Cu ~ # has catalytic activity.
