2008年北京奥运男篮已经确定了9支球队,他们是中国、美国、阿根廷、安哥拉、伊朗、澳大利亚、西班牙、俄罗斯、立陶宛。2008年7月7日至7月13日将进行奥运落选赛的比赛,参加落选赛的12支球队为:希腊、德国、克罗地亚、斯洛文尼亚、波多黎各、巴西、加拿大、新西兰、黎巴嫩、韩国、喀麦隆、佛得角,12支球队将分成4组,小组3出2,然后交叉淘汰,前三名获得最后的奥运参赛权。也就是说他们当中的3支球队将有资格征战奥运会。
