滚齿机最重要的部分是工作台面的分度蜗轮副,它直接影响机床的精度。随着对加工齿轮精度要求的提高,对滚齿机分度蜗轮副的要求也就提高。目前有些厂已采用自由珩磨蜗轮的方法来修复提高分度蜗轮副的制造精度。生产实践缸明,这是一种较简单而有效的方法,它不仅不需要特殊精密设备,且修理周期短,修复效果好。我厂曾采用调换分度蜗杆,珩磨分度蜗轮的修理方案,检修ZWF10滚齿机(加工齿轮最大模数10,最大直径1000毫米)及5330滚齿机(加工齿轮最大模数15~20,最大直径1500~2000毫米),分度蜗轮副基本达到或超过原有精度要求。蜗轮珩磨加工的啮合原理与蝸轮剃削加工相同,切削运动也基本一致,它是将珩磨蜗杆与蜗轮视为一对二轴相交成90°的螺旋齿轮,依靠二者之间的相对滑动,进行磨削加工。珩磨蜗杆与蜗轮之间没有一定的传动键联系,它呈自由传动状态。
