本文作者选取了自1851年到2000年间以英语为母语的各国政要发表的6篇世博会英语演讲,具体分析所选演讲在句法上的文体特点,以期从理论上验证世博英语演讲作为公众演讲的一部分,具有一般公众演讲的共性,从而填补学界这方面研究的空白。
The author chooses six English speeches delivered by politicians of all nationalities from English-speaking countries from 1851 to 2000 and analyzes syntactically the stylistic features of selected speeches in order to theoretically validate the Expo English speech as part of the public speech , With the common features of general public speech, so as to fill the gaps in academic research in this field.
