“宜春”樱桃为蔷薇科李属植物,属中国樱桃种,是在若干年前由外地引种驯化而成的,在宜春、靖安、清江、上高等县(市)有少量栽培。据调查,宜春市春台乡窑前村、湖田乡樟树村和梅木村等地有150余株。一、经济意义樱桃鲜果富含蛋白质、糖、磷、铁、Vc、Va等,营养价值很高,其含量远较苹果为多。在宜春4月底至5月成熟,为落叶果树中成熟最早的一种,果实皮红肉黄,酸甜适口,为消费者所爱,对调节鲜果淡季供应有重要意义。除供鲜食外,还可加工制罐头、做酒、制酱等;同时,樱桃树姿优美,有很好的观尝价值,是园林绿化的一种好树种。
