I. Introduction In the past two decades, modern control theory has been successfully applied in many fields such as aviation and aerospace. In fact, active control has become an important and inseparable part of every space plan. The application of active control to spacecraft, large-scale flying flexible metal and composite structures, and various types of space systems is now under investigation. However, the active control of the application of civil engineering structures started later.
