海单2号玉米杂交种是海城市种子公司培育的杂交玉尖新品种。属高秆粗穗型玉米,株形紧凑呈塔形,株高326厘米,穗粗5.9厘米,籽粒黄色深马齿型,穗轴白色,幼苗叶鞘紫色。高抗大、小斑病、青枯病和丝黑穗病,抗倒伏、抗旱、刷涝性强。在海城从出苗到成熟为128天,比丹玉13号晚热7天。1989年西柳镇万亩玉米高产田,平均亩产818.5公斤;1990年全市种植12万亩,已成为主栽品种。
