Employment has always had a dual meaning for Chinese women - the political significance as a symbol of women’s liberation and equality between men and women and the economic significance of being an important part of the workforce and of personal and family well-being. Admittedly, after the reform and opening up, people, especially economists, paid more attention to the economic significance of women’s employment. However, with the fundamental respect for human rights and social values, the employment rights of women and their significance to gender equality remain the same Everlasting topic. Recently, the Women’s Green Paper 1995-2005: China’s Report on Gender Equality and Women’s Development was published by the Women’s Institute of the All-China Women’s Federation and has had widespread social impact. The “Employment Situation of Chinese Women” article described nearly 10 Chinese Women in Employment in the Changing Tendency.
