长生草属(Sempervivum)植物原产于欧洲和亚洲的高加索地区。该属植物仅有40多种,但杂交品种繁多。为株体小巧的高山性多肉植物,由小型肉质叶片密集结成标准的莲座状,部分种类有夏季休眠习性。开色彩多样的星状小花。主要生长期在冷凉季节,适合温室栽培,喜阳光,但盛夏季节应做好通风降温工作,并节制浇水,避免潮湿闷热。栽培用土宜选用通透性良好、又有适量腐殖质的土壤。性耐寒,2度以上温度条件下可安全越冬。可用播种、分株、扦插繁殖。
