The large-scale digital data storage system - Stanford University Library Digital Storage (SDR) is described in detail. The article summarizes a series of lessons learned from the research and development of Stanford digital warehousing in the past five years. Based on the lessons learned above, a new warehouse design and service framework, SDR 2.0, is sketched out that will effectively address some of the problems encountered in SDR. This article also describes in detail the changes in the environment such as people and collaboration opportunities. The article concludes with an overview of the overall state of storage and warehousing sharing and the new generation of systems and strategies emerging in this area.
