Interventional radiology is a new discipline which integrates medical imaging, clinical diagnosis and treatment in recent ten years and is widely used in the diagnosis and treatment of advanced cancer and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Radiographers involved in interventional radiology receive much higher doses of radiation than traditional X-ray diagnostic workers, due to the need for operators to operate at the bedside for an extended period of time under X-ray irradiation.
