莲鹤方壶春秋中期器,高122厘米,宽54厘米,重64.28公斤。通体布满了盘曲的龙形装饰花纹,双层镂雕莲瓣盖上立有一只展翅欲飞、引颈高吭的仙鹤。两侧并铸有圆雕的龙形细长双耳,镂空的双龙耳较大,上出器口,下及器腹。壶体四面以蟠龙纹为主体纹饰,并在腹部四角各铸一飞龙。圈足下以两只伏虎承器。有盖,双耳,圈足,壶身上下遍饰各种附加装饰。采用了圆雕、浅浮雕、细刻、焊接等多种技法铸造而成。这是一件巨大的青铜盛酒器,整个壶的造型优美新颖,艺术构思巧妙,与商朝那些厚重而庄严的青铜器形成了鲜明对比,在艺术风格上反映出东周时期雕塑艺术发展所带来的清新气息。莲鹤方壶现存两件,一藏故宫博物院,一藏河南省博物馆,均于1923年出土于河南新郑县李家楼。
