北宋仁宗年间,朝廷准备在京城(开封)东郊建一座塔,命名为开宝寺塔。预浩是当时著名的工匠,于是朝廷就请他负责设计、建造开宝寺塔。预浩领命之后,先到现场观察,然后设计施工图,组织工匠们施工。在进行基础施工的时候,个别细心的工匠发现基础设计存在问题,那就是西北方向的基础明显比东北方向的基础低。工匠们以为这是预浩在设计时的失误,就提醒预浩,说基础不平整,一方偏低了。预浩也没有作解释,只是告诉工匠们继续按原设计施工即可。在塔身建起一半的时候,工匠们发现这个塔出现了明显的倾斜现象,即向西北倾斜,于是再次提醒预浩。预浩却要他们继续按原设计施工。后来,整个塔完
