65 cases of acute and chronic urinary tractinfection were treated with the capsule ofAchillea alpina L.Its therapeutic effect in acuteand chronic urinary tract infection were some-what identical,total effective rate being over90% in either case.42 strains were isolated from39 patients with positive results in urine bac-terial culture,of which 34 disappeared aftertreatment.Among the 32 cases who did notrespond to antibiotic,30 cases are chronicurinary tract infection.The effective rate of thecapsule of Achillea alpina L.in this 30 cases was86.6%.No serious side effect was found in allthe 65 cases treated.
