This article describes the screen-driven technique of ALIS, ALIS is short for “Alternate Lighting of Surfaces.” This technology can give resolution greater than 1000 scan lines without reducing the luminous efficiency, and can meet the basic requirements of HDTV. Compared with the traditional method, ALIS is considered as one of the key technologies in the field of PDP display in recent years due to the miniaturization of the circuit scale, the reduction of the number of scanning electrodes by half, and the reduction of the cost of the PDP screen.
