盐池沙荒地区现有林约12.2万亩,林木复盖率约2％。遵照伟大领袖毛主席“自力更生,艰苦奋斗”的教导,在发展林业中走自采种、自育苗、自造林的道路,必须注意收集、利用当地的种子、种条资源。编制这一地区物候图的目的,就是为了给当地林业生产提供适时的采种、采条时期,以便更好地利用当地的现有林木资源,加速林业的发展。另外,还可为开展群众性的树木育种工作提供各树种花期,供树木杂交育种工作参考。
