历史是需要解读的,解读的终极目的当然有关我们自己及其人类的意义。具体而言,当女雕塑家沈琍花了两、三年功夫(目前仍在继续)做着她的一组大型作品“郑州商城博物苑雕塑设计系列”时,无疑她是在解读历史。在她查阅古文献资料、观览文物遗存、往返于郑州与西安之间拜访考古学家和历史学家时,显然她是在追问历史的本来意义,追问几千年以前那个时代里客观发生的史实。鉴于历史的不可复现性,我们完全可以肯定这种追问不可能达到目标。然而,我们却不能断然否定追问自身的意义:历史正存在于这种不停地追问之中。我们对于某个历史断面如中国商代的认识,比历史文献更能启发我们想象力的,是出土文物。视察成品比文字描述具有更为直接和深刻的印象。成千上万的实物遗存为我们提示出了一个个历史断面,这个感悟历史的机缘却往
History needs interpretation. The ultimate goal of interpretation certainly relates to ourselves and their humankind. Specifically, when the female sculptor Shen Fu spent two or three years Kung Fu (currently still continuing) doing a series of her large-scale works “Zhengzhou Mall Museum Sculpture Design Series”, no doubt she is interpreting history. When she consulted with ancient documents and relics, and went back and forth to visit archeologists and historians between Zhengzhou and Xi’an, she apparently questioned the original meaning of history and asked what happened objectively thousands of years ago historical facts. In the light of the irreproducibility of history, we can be sure that such a questioning can not achieve its goal. However, we can not categorically deny the meaning of questioning ourselves: history exists in this ongoing questioning. It is unearthed relics that our understanding of a certain historical section, such as the Shang Dynasty in China, is more inspiring to our imagination than historical documents. Inspections of finished products have a more direct and profound impression than textual descriptions. Tens of thousands of physical remnants prompted us a historical section, the perception of the history of the opportunity to
