牛蒡(Arctium lappa L.)属菊科,为2~3年生草本植物。其肉质根富含纤维素,具有清除胃肠道残存物质,降低胆固醇的功效,是日益被广大消费者注目的保健蔬菜。自1987年引种以来,种植面积已发展到4000亩,成为莱阳市大宗出口蔬菜。一般大田每亩产鲜根条2000kg,产值3000~5000元。牛蒡主栽品种是日本种苗株式会社生产的“柳川理想”。年用种量1300t,全部从日本进口,费用高达80~100万元人民币。为此,我中心对牛蒡繁种技术进行了多年的研究。
