With the rise of the collection boom and the expansion of modern literary research, a great number of Republican books and periodicals, which were deeply hidden in the private houses or covered in libraries, have drawn people’s attention. The cover design of these books is also known as “the passing landscape” by the style of the times gone by and the permanent artistic charm, which are cherished and appreciated by collectors and researchers. At the same time, the book binding artists of that year also stepped into our field of vision with their historical merits. It is only for a variety of historical reasons that many of them have been kept in the wrong pile of paper for so long as to be unknown. From the beginning of this issue, we will successively publish a series of articles on this subject by Mr. Gao Xin, hoping to arouse readers’ interest and interest.
