60年代末,尼克松入主白宫后,中美关系开始解冻,处在一个微妙阶段。周恩来密切注视形势的发展。美国的著名评论家哈希发表题为《毛泽东在白宫屏风后面指挥尼克松的行动》(大意),内部刊物转载此文,被周恩来读到。周总理十分重视这篇文章,但一下子还弄不明白“屏风后面”的真正含义。诚然,要读懂这篇文章,搞清楚美国的真正意图,必须首先“解题”,其关键就是“屏风”是什么意思。
In the late 1960s, after Nixon entered the White House, the Sino-American relations began to thaw, at a delicate stage. Zhou Enlai closely watching the development of the situation.
